Somebody Needs What You Can Give...

                 You will be BLESSED, promise....
                 Let's have a little CHRISTIANESE dialogue/monologue/discussion on the books of LEVITICUS, MARK, PSALM 37 and PROVERBS 10:5.  It is actually our ONE YEAR BIBLE, NLT reading for today, February 19, 2009.  I am more and more convinced that I can use this devotional tool as my TV talk show,  "WELCOME to LAH LAH LAND!" (an expose of the lives of a different breed of CHRISTIANESE...as the PICASSO and VAN GOGH to painting) screen/teleplay.  My ULTIMATE EXECUTIVE PRODUCER nags me so.  He DEMANDS to write the TELESCRIPT, from HIS BOOK, no less.
 
                In LEVITICUS 7, GOD gave very specific instructions in GIVING unto HIM, our ULTIMATE PROVIDER and OWNER  of EVERYTHING that we have.  Every breath we take, every talent and gifts of the HOLY SPIRIT, every relational and social gift, every tangible thing HE will ever loan and give each of us stewardship right to, belongs to our CREATOR.
                The  ULTIMATE CHIEF EXECUTIVE & OPERATIONS OFFICER of our GIFT of LIFE on EARTH is GENEROUS, GRACIOUS, LOVING, MERCIFUL and COMPASSIONATE.  He is also a PERFECTIONIST.
HE has a FLARE for DETAILS.  HE  sets standards and HE wants each SPECIFIC DETAIL HE SETS...
"be done as HE commanded". 
                 For the INNER CIRCLE...(Yes! [MARK  3:31 to MARK 4:25] GOD chooses and annoints a remnant and few  broken and surrendered souls who vow to follow HIM unto death for HIS GLORY and HIS KINGDOM WILL.  If you have a problem with that then just DELETE this and go your way, PHARAO!  NABAL!  SAUL! JUDAIZERS!  PHARISEES! PAGANS! ACLU!) like the THREE of the TWELVE apostles, PETER, JAMES & JOHN, or the ANOINTED AaRON and the other PRIESTS, our ULTIMATE PROVIDER demands nothing less than the RIGHT BREASTS and AROMATICALLY BURNING FATS of our SACRIFICIAL and PEACE OFFERINGS.  As we GIVE it for KINGDOM PURPOSE, we GIVE it BACK unto HIM who LOANED us our EVERY SECOND on earth.
                 Like MOSES, I feel called to take the first step in the leadership and delegation of tasks to those who are GOD GIFTED and ANOINTED with the HEARTS for the PREPARATION and EDUCATION of the FUTURE GENERATION of GOD's INNER CIRCLE.  The UNADULTERATED CHILDREN and the BIOLOGICALLY, EMOTIONALLY and PHYSIOLOGICALLY CONFUSED TEENS are FERTILE grounds for BREEDING the FUTURE leaders of the CREATOR's  INNER CIRCLE...MANKIND.  Each and everyone of us who HE created in HIS TRIUNE IMAGE.  Body, Soul & Spirit.   Each of us humans that HE created for the GLORIFICATION of  the GOD of TRUTH, LOVE, COMPASSION, PEACE, BEAUTY and ORDER.  As each of us is created in HIS PERFECT HOLY IMAGE, HE demands nothing but the BEST and FIRST of what HE has made us to be,  to be given back to HIM as our PERFECT PEACE offering, as the SON of MAN did.
                 When we SEEK first the KINGDOM of GOD and HIS perfect HOLINESS & EXCELLENCE, when we have fully become the best that HE has CREATED each of us to be, (in the death of self for HIM, hence for HIS OTHER KIDS), the PEACE and OUTRAGEOUS, CONTAGIOUS JOY of stepping into HIS INNER CIRCLE touches us even in this our life on earth.  We then have a peek, taste and aroma of HEAVEN.  Our human body, heart and soul will never be able to comprehend and contain that KINGDOM realm.
                 GIVE unto our CREATOR our BEST,  as HE has GIVEN us HIS OWN BEST as HE DESCENDED from HIS KINGDOM unto EACH of our HEARTS.

Somebody Needs What You Can Give

Numbers are significant to God.

The number "9" signifies "gifts," and "fruit."  1 Corinthians 12:7-11 states that we are given nine different ways in which the Holy Spirit shows Himself in our lives.  And as with the "gifts of the Spirit" described in Galatians 5:22, these are inner qualities that bless those around us when we share them.

For those of us who love God and truly want to see His presence manifested in our lives,  I believe that in 2009 it will be especially important to reach out to those around us with the gifts we are given. 

How we share our blessings, gifts, and talents with others is how we show God's love and allow our lives to be a light to the world around us.

Love is a verb - an action word.  We can love those around us by our simple actions of giving. Each of us has something to give our world.  And somebody out there needs what you can give!

Giving is not about a financial thing -- although that is one way to give. Sharing with others stems from our inner being; it is giving of ourselves, our talents and our abilities.  Today one of the most valuable gifts we can give someone may be our time.

Any time is a good time to give, however, during seasons of struggle, hardship, or transition -- which many of us are experiencing now -- I think it is especially important. It is easy to become self-absorbed, and feel we have nothing to give.

But I assure you, you have something somebody needs. It may be a warm smile, or a friendly touch! I have found through my own experiences that when I'm going through difficult times, it helps to make a deliberate and conscious choice to give of myself to others.

While going through a series of very painful experiences, I visited a nearby nursing home and devoted a portion of every week to five elderly people who had nobody else visiting them.  My gifts to them were simple:

I listened to stories of their childhood adventures.
I held their hands and told them stories of my own.
I joked with them.
Sometimes I brought them soft cookies they could "gum" on -- or little bouquets of flowers they could smell, even if they couldn't see them.

By sharing simple acts of kindness with these precious seniors, not only was God's love manifested, but it brought me incredible blessings of joy and happiness and allowed me to focus on the positive side of my personal life. When we give to others it is impossible not to be blessed.   

In 2009, a year that I call "The Year of the Spirit," I encourage you to take time to hear the small still voice within.

Be sensitive to God's Spirit in every area of your life. Find simple ways of sharing the gifts He has given you with the people around you. You will, in turn, find yourself filled with joy and contentment, as you become His hand extended to a hurting world.

Remember, your life is a gift from God - what you do with your life is your gift to Him.
