A Trial Lawyer Stimulus?
America's Trial Lawyers Come to Washington Looking for a Handout

Last week, Congress returned to Washington, DC amidst a changing political climate - and unprecedented economic challenges.

Against this backdrop, guess who's come to Washington looking for a handout?

America's plaintiffs' attorneys.

In issuing their wish list for 2009, they even requested the creation of a new White House "Lawsuit Czar."

Their goal is simple: grow the American lawsuit industry to increase their profits at the expense of our country's consumers, employers and working families.

As we deal with the financial crisis, now is not the time to place a greater drag on the economy by expanding our nation's lawsuit system.

How You Can Help

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce supports efforts to revitalize the economy and put people back to work - but that means growing American jobs, not America's lawsuit industry.

Please click here to contact President Obama to implore him to resist the agenda of the trial lawyers in order to protect American employers.

America's legal system is broken, and with your continued support, we will reform it!

The Institute for Legal Reform is an advocacy group working to end lawsuit abuse. ILR is a national campaign of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, with the critical mission of making America's legal system simpler, faster, and fairer for everyone.
